​​Our story

David, the founder of Smartlet, spent years switching between elegance and functionality. 'I wore my smartwatch to track my sleep, but I missed my father's timepiece. That's when I realized — I don't have to choose. I can build the bridge.

 

Mechanical marvels carry identity, emotion, and a unique story. But as the world evolved, so did our wrists. From fitness tracking to payments and notifications, smartwatches and fitness trackers became part of daily life. Yet most of them look and feel the same, defined more by their digital ecosystem than by any real sense of uniqueness. They may be functional, but they lack the emotion and character that define true horology.

 

Smartlet has just been awarded the Bronze Medal at the Concours Lépine International Paris 2025, a prestigious innovation competition that has been celebrating the world's most groundbreaking inventions for over 124 years. Recognized for its innovative concept and its new way of wearing both classic and connected watches, Smartlet proudly carries this mark of excellence born in the heart of Paris.

From the very first sketch, our goal has been clear: to create a strap that unites two worlds — the emotional and historical richness of mechanical watches, and the performance and intelligence of smartwatches.

Designed in Paris, crafted from noble materials like titanium and SS316L stainless steel, and protected by a patented system, Smartlet reinvents the way we wear time. More than a strap, it is a bridge between tradition and modernity, memory and future.

At the heart of Smartlet is David, founder, surrounded by entrepreneurs and creative minds. With multiple successful ventures behind us, we bring the same drive to one mission: redefining how watches are worn.

Each member brings unique expertise — press, customer experience, design, storytelling, production. Behind every detail, they infuse Smartlet with elegance, ingenuity, and precision:

Smartlet is the intersection of my engineering background and my passion for horology. I wanted to reconcile tradition with modernity, to build a connection between classic watchmaking and the needs of today’s world. Smartwatches have revolutionized the industry, but they often require us to abandon traditional timepieces or resort to clumsy solutions to wear one on each wrist.

 

With Smartlet, I aimed to offer an elegant and clever alternative: a modular bracelet designed to evolve and adapt to both classic and smartwatches.


For me, innovation isn’t just about technology; it’s about how technology integrates seamlessly into our everyday lives.

Smartlet is still a work in progress—a project driven by research and development, a continuous reflection on what watchmaking can be in the digital age, without sacrificing its heritage.

 

My journey has been one of experimentation, trial, and adaptation. Smartlet follows the same path: evolving, testing, refining. Because, above all, innovation is about asking the right questions.”
