Ferdinand Alexander Porsche designed the original Chronograph 1 in 1972 - the same year he completed the 911 Carrera RS. Black titanium case, black dial, black subdials. Every surface treated to eliminate reflection. The concept was legibility through reduction. The Chronograph 1 became the first all-black watch in production history and defined a design language that still looks current fifty years later. The contemporary references continue that logic in aerospace titanium.
